La Chusa Highlands Neighborhood
La Chusa Highlands, at the base of Encinal Canyon, is an upscale area along Encinal Canyon Road, north of PCH and west of Broad Beach.
The La Chusa Highlands Improvement Association was involved in protracted efforts to erect a private gate on Avenida de la Encinal to limit traffic from Encinal Canyon Road. To protect the community interests, they have also been involved in litigation with Charmlee Park and the Rancho Malibu development, a 274-acre parcel of undeveloped land 2.3 miles north of Pacific Coast Highway beyond La Chusa Highlands.
Homes in La Chusa Highlands have sold at prices above $2 million.
